Physical Education
Today in one of my P.E. classes we played one of my favorite games from when I was a youngster in P.E. The game is called spaceships and aliens. In the center court are kids with dodge balls which are the spaceships and they throw the balls at the kids as they run by, which are the aliens. If they get hit by a ball they have to join the spaceships in the middle until we are down to one person. What types of games do you remember playing in P.E. or if you are a teacher what types of games do you students enjoy?

Hey Trevor! I have never heard of that game being called "spaceships and aliens"...how clever. I am guessing it is a modification of dodge-ball??? I am a high school health teacher in Massachusetts, here we have separate teachers for health and physical education...but are still part of the same department. Therefore, I am not that up-to-date on the different games in PE. Still I do remember some of the games I use to play when I was in school. One of my favorites was playing floor hockey...I know it isn't the newest game around, but I still enjoy it!
ReplyDeleteHey Trevor! I think you've done it right!!! I hope that I did mine right as well!
ReplyDeleteDon't remember much about PE...that was SO LONG ago for me!!! I do remember dodgeball being fun as long as I wasn't the person being hit with the ball!!! I was pretty small back then and was able to avoid getting hit pretty good but I couldn't throw hard enough to hit anybody very hard!!!
I leaned more toward the activities that I could perform without being on a team. I really like the gymnastics classes!!! That balance beam REALLY isn't very big!!!! I also liked double-dutch jump rope...it's an art form as far as I'm concerned!!!!
